La Maison Vigneronne

Situated within walking distance of the centre of Cazouls les Beziers, the property offers an ideal place to stay and enjoy the Mediterranean climate whilst exploring the magnificent area, the largest wine region in the world. The village offers everything to make your stay comfortable with bars, restaurants and shops as well as a typical village square, various fetes throughout the year and on the edge of the village a large supermarket.

Situated just 10 minutes drive from Beziers town the property is also convenient for the various cultural events available here. These include 'the Feria' in mid August, and the Fete Occitane celebrations in June to mark the 'Occitan', the ancient and still used local language and culture.

The countryside around Cazouls offers many opportunities as well, being ideal for cycling, rambling, fishing, climbing in the hills of the Languedoc, skiing in the Pyrennes just 2 hours drive away, or canoeing practically on the doorstep at Reals on the River Orb. The Canal du Midi is also within a short drive and as well as boats and picnics provides and ideal place for walking and cycling on its towpaths. Golf is available at St Thomas near Beziers or Lamalou the spa town in the nearby Languedoc National Park.

The house itself has two floors on the ground floor a large lounge with television, kitchen breakfast room, separate W.C. and access to a private large courtyard area ideal for outside eating and barbecues. There is a washing machine, gas oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and all crockery and utensils. A radio is also available.

Via the stone staircase the upper floor offers three bedrooms, two of which offer double beds along with hanging wardrobes and drawers and the third bedroom is used as a single but also has space for second 'put you up' bed if required. A modern three piece shower room including a second W.C. is also available at this level. All linen and towels is provided except of course beach towels.

The property is ideally suited to couples, small groups of adults or families with two children. However it is not recommended for small children under five years old and no smoking is allowed inside the house.

Other places to visit in the vicinity include the highest motorway bridge in the world at Millau on the autoroute A75, which you may want to visit if you are driving down from the north of France. Also on the Mediterranean are the numerous sandy beaches and the fishing ports at Meze, Sete and Marseillan as well as the oyster village on the Bassin de Thau at Bouzigues. Carcassone, the historic city is about an hours drive away, as are the cities of Perpignan and Montpellier all having airports with direct services from the UK as does Nimes, about an hour and 30 minutes drive away.

Prices include an end of stay clean, and are per week in low season, 260 Euros, 360 Euros mid season and 450 Euros peak season. Reservations are for a minimum payment of one week with any day changeovers. With an additional payment of 300 Euros security deposit required which is refundable.
