 Situated within a short walk of the centre of Pouzolles, yet in a quiet location, the property offers an ideal place to stay and enjoy the Mediterranean climate whilst exploring the magnificent area, the largest wine region in the world. The village offers everything to make your stay comfortable with a bar and shops as well as a typical village square, various fetes throughout the year and in the neighbouring village a few minutes drive away there are 3 restaurants as well as a large supermarket. Situated just 15 minutes drive from Beziers or Pezenas towns the property is also convenient for the various cultural events available here. These include 'the Feria' in Beziers in mid August, and the Fete Occitane celebrations in June to mark the 'Occitan', the ancient and still used local language and culture. In the summer is the Mirondella des Arts in Pezenas - a series of rolling cultural events and music events that last a month during July. Also nearby is one of the best preserved Chateau in the Herault department open to the public, at the Chateau de Cassan, with many musical events and exhibitions held here throughout the year, as well of course as its wines. |
 The countryside around Pouzolles offers many opportunities as well, being ideal for canoeing, cycling, rambling, fishing, climbing in the hills of the Languedoc, skiing in the Pyrennes just 2 hours drive away. Nearby is the town of Pezenas with its cultural traditions as well as cobbled streets and one of the largest street markets in the Herault every Saturday. The town is also famous for its antique shops. The Canal du Midi is also within a short drive and as well as boats and picnics provides and ideal place for walking and cycling on its towpaths. Golf is available at St Thomas near Beziers or Lamalou the spa town in the Languedoc National Park, just 20 minutes away.The apartments are laid out as follows. Both have individual access from a common staircase but can be configures as one if required. On the first floor is a one bedroom apartment, with a large double bedroom, lounge with windows to the front and a kitchen breakfast room as well as large bath/shower room with W.C. On the second floor is the other apartment with a large lounge dining room, American kitchen, two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with twin beds, shower and separate W.C. with washbasin. Each has a television with main French channels and English satellite channels, There is a washing machine available if required, gas oven and hob in the one bedroom apartment and gas hob in the two bedroom. There is also microwave, kettle and all crockery and utensils in each apartment. All linen and towels is provided except of course beach towels. The property is ideally suited to couples, groups of adults or families with older children. No smoking is allowed inside the house. |
Other places to visit in the vicinity include the highest motorway bridge in the world at Millau on the autoroute A75, which you may want to visit if you are driving down from the north of France. Also on the Mediterranean are the numerous sandy beaches and the fishing ports at Meze, Sete and Marseillan as well as the oyster village on the Bassin de Thau at Bouzigues. Carcassone, the historic city is about an hours drive away, as are the cities of Perpignan and Montpellier all having airports with direct services from the UK as does Nimes, about an hour and 30 minutes drive away.Weekly PricesPrices in Euros include an end of stay clean and can be made in Sterling equivalent subject to exchange rate variations at time of reservation.
