Domaine du Terral, Capestang

The house has its own entrance and full availability of the swimming pool, barbecue picnic area, childrens park, tennis court and an ideal place to stay for a relaxing holiday, with the French aristocracy as neighbours. You will enjoy their company at some stage during your stay no doubt.
The house is just 20 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches and there are lots of other facilities in the region such as golf, riding, fishing and of course ideal cycling country. The towns of Carcassone, Perpignan and Montpellier are within an hour and the Spanish border an hour and a half, Barcelona is 3 hours. The local towns of Narbonne, Beziers and Pezenas also much closer and offer a host of things to explore and do particularly during the many festivals that take place in the region.

The Languedoc is one of the most popular regions of France with its long sandy beaches, rolling hills and vineyards and these days easy access, either by plane or car. The latter takes you over the highest road bridge in the world at Millau on the A75, when travelling south and just over an hour from the house. The climate is hot and sunny with temperatures often in the high 30's in summer and with over 300 days of sunshine a year the house is well situated. Capestang is on the Canal du Midi is an ideal place to wail away the time watching the boats that cruise between the Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea. There are a number of restaurants in the wine village as well as all the shops, bars and a large supermarket in Capestang.

The village offers a number of bars and shops as well as the Abbey on the Pilgrim route to St Jacques de Compestelle and a lovely tree lined square lively most days including Sundays and Thursdays when the local market is on. There are several other restaurants within a five minute drive, some on the Canal. Beziers is 15 minutes drive with lots of shops, cathedral and Cathar history as well as fetes year round. Pezenas a 35 minute drive away is full of history based on the plays of Moliere, the equivalent of Shakespeare but a little more humorous, and full of shops and boutiques as well as restaurants and bars. St Chinian is one of France's most popular wines.

Fly to any of the following airports - Beziers (20mins)Montpellier (40 mins by car), Nimes (1 hr 20 mins), Carcassone (1 hr) or Perpignan (1hr) and use hire car at the airports, either Hertz , Avis or Europecar are good.
As well as the large swimming pool and barbecue areas there is a childrens swing and tree house. Other sports include tennis and table tennis on site. Nearby is sailing, horse riding, cycling, fishing, golf, and of course cycling or boating on the Canal du Midi.

The Manoir has four large bedrooms in what was a winemakers house in the grounds of the chateau with covered parking for several vehicles, large or small! The house is on two levels set around a courtyard ideal for outside dining and the house has its own former pigeonnaire.

There is an entrance hall, kitchen off, with dining room for 8 with terrestial TV, and downstairs shower room with WC. Upstairs is a large lounge with Satellite TV, four bedrooms, two bathrooms and an ensuite shower room with a separate WC.
The grounds of 8 hectares are extensive and include many wooded areas closed to traffic except for visitors and guests to the Chateau who enter via a different route, as you will on arrival. The pool, tennis courts and childrens facilities and barbecue areas are somewhat distanced from the chateau and on open parkland with trees to one side. The park is available only to you and the owners.
The pool and tennis court are shared with the family who own the chateau only.

In peaks season reservations are Saturday to Saturday with more flexibility out of season. Reservations are subject to contract and payment of rental in advance as well as a refundable security deposit.
Rates are as follows, January to April – 1300 Euros per week, May and June 1700 Euros per week, July and August 2300 Euros per week, September 1700 Euros per week and October to December 1300 Euros per week.

All utilities are included in the price as is all linen with an end of stay clean. Additional cleaning and linen, other than the end of stay changes, can be ordered directly or in advance along with a welcome pack of groceries.
