 As well as a covered terrace with panoramic views down to the coast, the apartment has outside dining table and chairs and gas barbecue. There are sun loungers around the pool area and in season usually a wine tasting event organised to enjoy most evenings to taste and dry different local products, and of course buy them.The apartment has Satellite TV with French and English channels, DVD Player, electric radiators, Oven & hob, kettle, toaster, Iron, Washing machine and clother dryer, microwave, fridge freezer and all cooking and eating utensils. Two bedrooms with a double and twin beds both having built in wardrobes, a bathroom with bath and integral shower, double washhandbasins and separate WC All linen and towels are included in the price except beach towels and an end of stay clean is included. Additional cleaning and linen change can be arranged at cost as well as a welcome pack of groceries. Comprehensive shopping and facilities are available within ten minutes including two large hypermarkets and a commercial centre, the town centre of Beziers is just 15 minutes drive as are the Mediterraneans' long sandy beaches at Valras Plage. |
 The region has varying landscape, from one of rolling hills of vineyards and perched villages inland from the coastal plain which is set against a backdrop of the Languedoc National Park. The long Mediterranean beaches are interspersed with inland sea lagoons famous for the migrating pink flamingos and some are used for oyster culture and pretty fishing villages such as Marseillan and Bouzigues on the Bassin de Thau. The climate offers lots of sunshine throughout the year (the area boasts of 300 days per year) as well as many leisure pursuits whether it be golf, cycling, rambling, canoeing, horse-riding, bird watching, canoeing, yachting, windsurfing, etc And we haven't yet mentioned it is the largest wine region in the world producing these days some excellent wines, particularly Faugeres and St Chinian. The towns of Beziers, Pezenas, Narbonne, Perpignan and Nimes as well as the walled city of Carcassone are all within a short distance as is the regional capital Montpellier a young and yet vibrant city. The area is full of culture from the Romans and Greeks eras as well of course the Cathar history that marks the area. The towns of Beziers and Pezenas have a number of annual festivals, including the new wine festival in October, the Festa D'Oc where Beziers is the centre of the Occitan culture and its Cathar history, and of course the largest street festival in southern France in Mid August around the Feria, based on its historical Spanish culture which involves, children's parades, street parties and dining, flamenco dancing, horse shows and of course bull fighting! |
Beziers airport is just 15 minutes away (flight from London Luton from October 2008 and Bristol airports) and the apartment is under an hours drive from Montpellier, Perpignan and Carcassone airports, or 2 hours from Girona (Spain), Toulouse or Nimes which are serviced by flights from the UK and Ireland by Ryanair, BMI Baby and Easyjet; there are also 3 flights a day from Paris via Airliner to Beziers. Hertz and Europcar services for car hire are at most airports.The TGV from Paris takes 4 hours and arrives at Beziers with several trains per day the station and Central Beziers being just 15 minutes away. A taxi from the station to the golf course will be around 25 Euros or there are Car hire companies there such as AVIS at the station. Rental is subject to contract, with one week being minimum reservation period and payment is in advance. There is a refundable security deposit or £210 or 300 Euros. Payment is accepted in £Sterling or Euros. Prices are October to December and January to end April 350 Euros per week, May, June and September 475 Euros per week and July and August 650 Euros per week. |
