 General InformationPezenas is located amongst the Languedoc vineyards between Montpellier and Beziers.It is a delightful town in true Languedoc tradition, with old winding streets, Renaissance architecture. There is a Supermarket 5 minutes walk away. Many cultural events (concerts, festivals and outdoor exhibitions) take place every summer. Pezenas is generally considered the prettiest and liveliest 'small' town in Languedoc. Totally unspoilt by tourism, the town is a bustling centre of Southern French life and a sheer delight on a summer's evening to sit and dine in the warm, open air and watch life drift gently by. Mediterranean beaches lie 12 miles to the south. Endless, sandy child friendly beaches, waterfront cafes and restaurants, all water sports catered for. Further beaches, casinos, golf course, waterpark, theme parks, nightclubs can be found at Cap d'Agde (25mins drive away) or Meze,more of a traditional French fishing port is just 20 minutes away. Alittle further down the coast is the fishing village of Bouzigues famous in France for oysters and mussels. Pezenas is surrounded by vineyards - lots of opportunity for tasting and buying! The Languedoc National Park is only 30m mins drive away. The lakes are fantastic for swimming and watersports. An international canoeing centre is available at Reals, on the Orb river about 30 minutes away, golf at St Thomas between Beziers and Pezenas and horse riding schools abound. There's also the spectacular scenery to explore and lots of places to visit! |
